and ethical products, many of which have local roots. We hope
you enjoy them, and find some information that inspires you
to make environmentally responsible decisions in your day
to day life, and share your newly found knowledge with others
in your community. If you would like to be involved on a larger

organizations.
BC SPCA
The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting
and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild
animals in British Columbia.
Bamboobino
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Bamboobino is a
children's wear and accessory line made from soft bamboo fabric.
They incorporate eco-friendly and socially responsible practices
in their business.

Parks & Wilderness Society
Since 1963 CPAWS has helped to conserve over 400,000 square
kilometers of Canada's most treasured wild places in parks
and other protected areas.

Wildlife Federation
Since 1962, CWF has advocated the protection of Canada's
wild species and spaces. The federation is one of Canada's
largest non-profit, non-governmental conservation organizations.

Farmer Vancouver
A non-profit society that provides information
on urban agriculture through a comprehensive resource library,
workshops, and lectures. They maintain the Compost Demonstration
Garden, as well as a demonstration garden in Vancouver.
David
Suzuki Foundation
Since 1990, the David Suzuki Foundation has
worked to find ways for society to live in balance with
the natural world that sustains us. The Foundation uses
science and education to promote solutions that conserve
nature and help achieve sustainability within a generation.

Ecojustice is a non-profit organization of
lawyers and scientists devoted to protecting the environment.
Since 1990, they have helped hundreds of groups, coalitions
and communities expose law-breakers, hold governments accountable
and establish powerful legal precedents in defence of our
air, water, wildlife and natural spaces.
Evergreen
Evergreen is a registered national charity
founded in 1991, with a mandate to bring nature to our cities
through naturalization projects. Evergreen motivates people
to create and sustain healthy, natural outdoor spaces and
gives them the practical tools to be successful.
Greenpeace
Canada
Greenpeace is an independently funded organization
that works to protect the environment. They challenge government
and industry to halt harmful practices through negotiation,
scientific research, they introduce clean alternatives,
carry out peaceful acts of civil disobedience, and educate
and engage the public.

Force Foundation
The Lifeforce Foundation is a non-profit
ecology organization dedicated to raising public awareness
of the interrelationship of humans, animals and the environment.
They address the long term effects of our choices on all
parts of the ecosystem.

Naturebag was created by Sylie de Sousa and Katharine
Byers, two Vancouver mums with one vision - to help children
and their families reconnect with nature.
Nature Canada is a member-based non-profit
conservation organization. Their mission is to protect nature,
its diversity, and the processes that sustain it.

Council of British Columbia
The Recycling Council of British Columbia
(RCBC) is all about Zero Waste. Since 1974, RCBC, Canada's
oldest Recycling Council, has led BC’s progressive
policy of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs
and other initiatives to find innovative ways to eliminate
waste and decrease British Columbia's environmental footprint.

charitable foundation. It funds the charitable projects

Promoting Environmental Conservation
Founded in 1969, SPEC is a non-profit charitable
organization that addresses environmental issues in British
Columbia, with a particular focus on urban communities in
the Lower Mainland and the Georgia Basin.

Park Ecology Society
A registered charitable organization, the
Stanley Park Ecology Society promotes awareness of and respect
for the natural world by playing a leadership role in the
stewardship of Stanley Park through collaborative initiatives
in education, research and conservation.
Western
Canada Wilderness Committee
The Western Canada Wilderness Committee was
founded in BC in 1980, and is now the largest membership-based,
citizen-funded wilderness preservation organization in Canada.
Their efforts have successfully helped in protecting millions
of hectares of Canadian wilderness in over 40 key wilderness
areas.

Species – General Status of Species in Canada
Ensuring human actions don't drive species
to extinction in Canada means knowing the status of species
across the nation - which species are secure for now, which
to keep an eye on, and which need to be formally assessed
and perhaps protected. The Wild Species reports provide

Fund Canada
WWF-Canada was founded in 1967, and has become
one of the country's leading conservation organizations.
Their mission is to stop the degradation of the planet's
